The works by this man named Ugur Gallenkus from Turkey has caught my attention since a long time. I came across his work in instagram where I saw photos of the privileged and the oppressed weaved together. They act as a split collage of pain and privilege.
In his bio, he says, "which juxtapose poignant photojournalistic imagery with scenes from peaceful lives."
His book, "Parallel Universes of War and Peace", is a collection of those images.
I have often wondered about the ethics of such photo collages. What about the copyright issues? Can someone put up an exhibition with such mixed collages of photographs from different photographers?
