I forget where I heard it but the saying "Parents are the ghosts of thier children's future" has really stuck with me...we are only here to serve as memories for our children and to give course to our children's trajectory, he did that....he gave your trajectory in life a course, and now his legacy lives on in your memories
Everyone goes through a creative slump, but when the loss of a loved one is compiled with it then it becomes more of a creative canyon
I slowly built my passion back up by planning trips to jaw dropping beautiful locations...and I took my camera with me....slowly depression began to fade and a sense of wonder started to come back on its own
Plan a trip somewhere astounding, go to the top of a mountain and just sit in silence as the sun sets and do some real healing, some real deep thought and soul searching....dig through your memories and really take the moment to process your life and the people in it...while taking photos of course....you would be surprised how therapeutic photography can be
Thank you for responding. You are right that parents are the ghosts of their children’s future. I never looked at it that way till I had my own. He’s about to turn 19 and I’m trying to teach him responsibility and to take care of himself because I won’t be here forever. I just hope him and I will have a long time before I go. There are places I would love to visit, it’s just finding the time and money to do it. Unless I just do an impromptu trip that’s within a reasonable days drive. I’d still be getting out and seeing amazing places.
