Born and brought up in Baripada, a small and beautiful town in Odisha, I feel quite nostalgic about my childhood days and reminisce about them quite often. After my schooling, I pursued engineering at NIT Rourkela which has been a life-changing experience so far. From exploring design and filmmaking in my college days just for the sheer delight of creating something cool to gradually understanding the sensitive and cultural impact they can have, I didn’t even realize when I had subtly transitioned into photography and films full time.

While being a filmmaker at heart, I’m equally fascinated by the boundless world of music. As my practice moves towards an amalgamation of art, music, and films - I plan to work further in documentaries, music videos, and the performing arts space. In my personal projects, I search for stories, honesty, feeling, and experimentation. I have always loved curating and teaching as well and would love to explore more opportunities in the same.

After having two years of a fast-paced stint in Bombay, crafting commercial films for brands, I realized how important it is to understand human psychology and culture to craft meaningful stories. Studying filmmaking in NID would give me that much-needed space and time to explore more about storytelling and understand the roots of culture, art, and human behavior. Having benefited immensely from the creative community, more so since I didn’t belong to a filmmaking background academically, I value the power of a closely-knit circle of like-minded creatives. And hence, meeting students and professors from diverse cultural backgrounds and other disciplines is something I am really looking forward to during my studies. What better place than NID to help me spread my wings and soar high!
