Identity Capital
Identity capital is our stock of personal assets. It is how we add value to who we are, and it is what we have to show for how we have spent our time…identity capital is how we build ourselves, bit by bit, over time.
“Being confused about choices is nothing more than hoping that maybe there is a way to get through life without taking charge.”
― Meg Jay, The Defining Decade: Why Your Twenties Matter - And How to Make the Most of Them Now
Reflection: As I read this concept of Identity capital, I felt like I have added quite some identity capita; to my repository. Starting from the Apple Scholarship to the RCA Degree, from topping the NID entrance exam to dropping out, from enginnering graduation to getting a scholarship for an advertising and filmmaking course in Mumbai.
Taking up independent freelance projects with companies like Budweiser, Wieden + Kennedy, Hermosa Design Studio etc. Creating a number of personal projects with pursuits of portraits, XY, and so on.
Working with the exhibition design team in RCA was also something that added a lot of value to my identity capital.
