One of the best ways to solidify a cross-domain insight is to explain it.

Either by writing a blog post, or making a forum comment, or just a one-pager for myself that lays out the concept from a particular domain and illuminates a different problem in another.

And this act of articulation clarifies my thinking and reveals any weak points in the analogy.

If I share it, then the feedback from others, even just a friend's reaction, can further refine the understanding.
